On this location on March 2, 1942, the Nazi forces shot 5,000 Jews from the Minsk Ghetto. Yama means ditch in Russian and it refers to the mass grave of the 5,000 Jews. The Minsk Ghetto Pit Memorial is located within a park in a residential community.
