Featured in the Yad Vashem Video Archives and supported by their International School for Holocaust Studies, the highly regarded documentary “A Day of Stolpersteine Dedications”, captures on film the 24 Stolpersteine dedications done in Leipzig, Germany, on May 13, 2019 for my family. My father, Joachim Kalter lost most of his family during the Holocaust. He and his brother, Herbert Kalter miraculously survived the horrors of Auschwitz and other concentration camps. Despite being deported from Germany to Poland, enduring 6 years of suffering and torture in the camps, he spoke of his hometown of Leipzig with poignant memories, of good times with his family before the war created utter chaos. I believe my film would bring joy to his heart, with the 24 Stolpersteine honoring him, his brother and the other Kalter, Hilsenrath and Kugelmass family members, all being reunited once again in Leipzig, Germany.
